Let Our Past Change the Future – Gala Benefitting Tuesday’s Children
On Thursday, September 6, 2012 Tuesday’s Children hosted their annual Gala at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City honoring Academy Award Nominated and Tony Award Winning director Stephen Daldry for his work on the acclaimed Warner Bros. film, “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” and for his generous support and commitment to the families of 9/11.
The evening was headlined by Grammy Award Winning singer Macy Gray and featured performances by Broadway’s most brilliant kids singing a song from Matilda the Musical which will premiere on Broadway in Spring 2013, Jimmie Allen and Colour of London and Tyler Vigil of WhiteOwl Jaguar. Party favors were provided by the mightily talented Alex and Ani who also served as an Entertainment Sponsor along with Roger and Margo Coleman and family, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and the Shea Family Fund.
The event included a silent auction as well as a live “Text-to-Donate” initiative allowing guests to pledge donations to Tuesday’s Children and see their fundraising progress in real time.
The night was a fantastic success and we thank all of our wonderful sponsors so much for their support! A special thank you to our Event Chairman, Thomas Shea, who has been a long time supporter and event partner of Tuesday’s Children.
