Tuesday’s Children Announces New CEO: Becky Rossman
Becky Rossman has been named Chief Executive Officer of Tuesday’s Children, a national organization that provides healing and resilience for military families of the fallen and those who continue to be affected by September 11th. Rossman joins Tuesday’s Children during a pivotal period of expansion, as the organization aims to increase its impact at the national level to become a preeminent resource for families affected by trauma and loss. Her leadership will pave the way to developing and implementing new programs and initiatives that will serve tens of thousands more families through improved mental health, sustained community connections, and resiliency training.
“Following a nationwide search conducted by Kittleman & Associates, Tuesday’s Children’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce Becky Rossman as our next CEO,” said Board Chair John Fitzsimmons. “We are confident that Becky will adeptly lead the organization in shaping our vision for the future. With Becky at the helm, we will solidify our position as a recognized leader in healing and resilience and will continue to grow the number of families we impact each year.”
Rossman brings 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to this role, having worked with a range of populations, including victims of child abuse, families overcoming poverty, and those affected by gun violence. She has provided transformative leadership, focusing on change management and team empowerment. Most recently, as the founder of Veteran CEO Consulting, Rossman helped organizations thrive through strategic planning, capacity building, and board development training.
Rossman shares, “I am deeply honored to be chosen by the Board of Directors to lead Tuesday’s Children. I am excited to utilize my experience to ensure families of the fallen across the country have access to the resources they need to have fulfilling, resilient futures, while maintaining support for 9/11 families.”
A veteran with a personal connection to Tuesday’s Children’s mission, Rossman served in the US Army Reserves for 8 years, coming out of the Individual Ready Reserves after 9/11. As an active leader, she is involved in her community through decades of service on boards, including America’s Gold Star Families, Freedom Paws Service Dogs, and Commerce Bank’s Advisory Board. She is also an educator, having taught trauma informed care, policy and leadership, and nonprofit management at Methodist College and Illinois Central College’s Corporate Education.
Rossman holds a Master’s degree in Applied Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bradley University. She holds a certificate in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is a National Trainer and Crisis Responder through NOVA.
Rossman assumes her responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer of Tuesday’s Children on July 22, 2024.
