Tuesday’s Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a charitable mission of caring for communities impacted by terrorism, military conflict or mass violence. Tuesday’s Children provides a lifetime of healing for families who have been forever changed by terrorism, military conflict or mass violence. We carry out our mission by providing events and programs, mentoring, and various other resources.
This Privacy Policy provides our general privacy terms and also specifically explains our information collection and use practices relating to the following: (i) the Website (ii) our Events and Programs, and (iii) any Donations you may make to us.
It is important to us that you know that in addition to the information you knowingly provide to us, we may collect certain information automatically from your use of the Website, including internet protocol (“IP”) addresses, de-identified web browser information, internet service provider (“ISP”) data, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, location, and click data, and a unique identifier associated with your browser or device. Some of this information that is automatically collected is later passed along to third parties like Google and Facebook.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Tuesday’s Children respects your privacy; we will not share your personal information except as disclosed in this policy. This Privacy Policy is subject to change, so you are encouraged to review it from time to time. Volunteers and job applicants may also submit personally identifiable information to this Website or through other means when applying to work with Tuesday’s Children. Employee and volunteer applicants may also be prompted to enter certain additional information such as confirmation of ability to work in the U.S. and information related to personal references.
Information Use
We use the information we collect about you to provide our Services. We may also use your information to improve our Services, contact you when necessary, provide anonymous reporting internally, and fulfill your requests. For applicants, volunteers and employees, we use their personally identifiable information to make staffing decisions, as appropriate and as permitted by applicable laws.

For example, we work with third-party service providers, such as Google and Facebook, to analyze your use of the Website. The analytics data we collect is used to help us improve the functionality of the Website, Events and Programs, and Donations. This data reflects site usage patterns gathered during thousands of customer visits to our website each month but does not contain behavioral or identifying information about any individual member. Our mentors and volunteers are located in multiple states in the United States. Depending upon the particular program or event, we provide training, where feasible, by professional staff for individuals who wish to participate. Please note that these individuals are not working as licensed mental health workers and may not be trained pursuant to counseling certification or licensure requirements in your state. Additionally, state privilege laws may apply to your communications with our mentors and/or participants, while other state laws may not protect your communications to the same degree or in the same way.

Donor information is maintained in a secured database, and only authorized personnel have access to this information and only for appropriate business purposes.

When we collect donations, we collect personal information that will help us dedicate your donation and use your donation as you request. We may collect information including but not limited to name, email address, birth date, phone number, and any other information that you provide to us while making a donation or is necessary to complete the donation. We may also use third-party sources to collect additional information about donors.
Information Use
We may use service providers to verify and process your payment. Except as may be required by law, we will not otherwise share your personal information without your permission. We will not send you charitable solicitations from outside entities on their behalf.
To the extent that any donations are processed by means of a third-party service provider for initiatives benefiting Tuesday’s Children, we will only engage with providers who confirm they will not share your contact information with other nonprofit organizations, marketers, or any other third party. We may also verify your personal information with third parties in the course of processing a gift, event registration, or other related donor activity. By making a donation, you agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Disclosure
Tuesday’s Children respects the privacy of all donors. We believe in safeguarding personal information and ensuring that donor privacy is protected. Your name, address and any other personal data you provide will be used only to keep you informed of our activities including our events and programs and funding needs. If, at any time, you choose not to receive these communications, you may contact Tuesday’s Children and we will gladly remove your name from our mailing list.

Tuesday’s Children publishes an Honor Roll of donors in various affinity groups that will be available on our website. We respect all donor requests to remain anonymous. You may choose to have gifts listed in public as “anonymous” by contacting us in writing at info@tuesdayschildren.org or by marking “anonymous” at the time of your donation. You must request removal if you do not want your name to potentially appear in public as a supporter, and in limited circumstances we may need to disclose your name if required by law. Please note that Tuesday’s Children reserves the right to contact you regarding gifts even after you have removed yourself from marketing and communications lists.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tuesday’s Children is not subject to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). However, we take children’s privacy seriously, and we encourage users and their parents to review this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service to understand our information collection practices.
You have certain choices concerning our collection, use, and sharing of personal information about you. For example, if you have requested marketing email communications from us (e.g., newsletters and communications regarding our events and programs) but do not wish to receive further information, you may “opt out” of receiving these by following the instructions contained in those email messages. If any of your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire to receive email communications from us, you may edit or delete your information by unsubscribing from the mailing list. Tuesday’s Children does not rent, sell, give away, or trade its donor lists or any information contained on those lists. Donor information is used by Tuesday’s Children for charitable purposes only as described above and will not be used by any entity outside of Tuesday’s Children. Tuesday’s Children may be legally required to disclose information on occasion. Tuesday’s Children complies with all applicable legal requirements and standards.
Tuesday’s Children recognizes that donors must be assured that their contributions will be used prudently and in accordance with the intent for which they were given. Information regarding the manner and purposes in which Tuesday’s Children’s resources are allocated shall be made readily available to donors through disclosure of most recent financial statements and IRS Form 990. In addition, the identity of our fiduciaries, governing board and senior management, shall also be disclosed to donors. The Annual Report, IRS Form 990, as well as a list of our staff and Board of Directors can be found on our website.
