Tuesday’s Children brought 13 teens to the Dominican Republic for a Helping Heals community service trip last week. The teens engaged with members of the Monte Coca Batey- a community of sugarcane workers. Over the course of the week, Tuesday’s Children helped complete construction of a new house, built a latrine from the ground up, and laid a new concrete floor.
When asked what inspired her to participate in this program, one participant said, “”My community came and did things for my family when we were in need. Their help really helped a lot.”
