The Tuesday’s Children Junior Board Presents: Rise Up Downtown 2013
Tuesday’s Children’s Junior Board hosted Rise Up Downtown, an exclusive commemorative ball in recognition and remembrance of this year’s anniversary. The event featured an open bar, silent auction and panoramic views of downtown Manhattan at Tribeca Three-Sixty, catered in-kind by local favorites Agave and Harry’s Italian. The Jim Roberti Band featuring the Maybabies headlined for the third year in a row playing covers of crowd favorites.
Emcee David Wield welcomed a room of approximately 430 guests in attendance this year. Among the 40 items auctioned off were a custom-designed surfboard from Surfboards by Ryder and a pair of vintage Hermès bangles. Event co-chairs Aria Grillo, Amanda Gregory and Nicholas DiIorio delivered a dynamic event striking all the right chords with the inclusion of a touching memorial luminary area as well as a photo booth featuring feather boas and Viking helmets by Team Photo Booth.
Among those in attendance were corporate sponsors from Ernst & Young and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and Stephanie Cinque and Tim McInerny from the Resiliency Center of Newtown. In its third year, the night raised over $90,000, an all-time high for the event, and served as an uplifting reminder of all of the young adults that support Tuesday’s Children and continue to help us keep the promise. Thank you to our sponsors, and congratulations to our Junior Board on this achievement!
