Join Tuesday’s Children and MENTOR Independence Region’s Adelaide Moschler for December’s Speaker Series on Trauma Informed Mentoring.
The goal of this training is that mentors develop awareness of trauma in order to support youth in developing resilience to cope with the effects of trauma.
Participants will:
1. Increase their knowledge and understanding of trauma
2. Explore youth behaviors through a trauma-informed lens
3. Explore evidence-based strategies for supporting youth in developing resiliency.
About the host: Adelaide Moschler joined MENTOR IR in 2015 where she has been designing and facilitating training for mentors and mentoring program staff. She has worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence since 2013. Adelaide has worked in the learning and development field since 2009 and has worked in the nonprofit social services field since 2005. Adelaide served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa from 2003 to 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Appalachian State University in 2002. Adelaide was born and raised in the Southern United States and has been living and working in Philadelphia since 2007. In her role as Manager of Learning & Development, Adelaide is MENTOR IR’s Lead Trainer, building the capacity and quality of mentoring programs and increasing the quality of mentors throughout our region and beyond.
