Join Tuesday’s Children to create Mandalas–ancient art form/circular design that symbolizes the idea that life is never-ending and everything is connected–in partnership with HeartSong. These represent the transformation of a universe of suffering into one of joy. All participants will have the opportunity to express themselves fully and freely within a safe and supportive community. Supplies will be provided.


Facilitator Details

Valeria Koutmina, MPS, ART-BC, LCAT is a Creative Arts Therapist with over 10 years of practice. Her career began working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Val has since honed a multimodal and culturally sensitive approach to working with those who have experienced mental illness, addiction and repatriation, specializing in issues of attachment and trauma.

She is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts Art Therapy Master’s Program and has worked in the United States as well as abroad. Sensory integration, metaphor, narrative, humor and play have significant roles in the approach she brings to working with clients to improve self-awareness and trust, promote resiliency and empower well-being.

This workshop is open to all Tuesday’s Children mentors and mentees.
