We are looking for dedicated professionals in the following areas.

 

Tuesday’s Children seeks an individual who will be responsible for the planning and administration of our expanded military programming for Military Families of the Fallen, This manager will build out logistics for our signature programs as well as interact with participating family members.  Position is in Manhasset office.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:

Military Program Support

  • Support the Director of Military Initiatives in the planning, execution and evaluation of programming
  • Research  vendors (location, catering, and special project vendors) insuring complete understanding of vulnerability of guests and budget constraints
  • Coordinate and monitor program timeline to ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage program attendees from recruitment through program completion including RSVP and program notifications
  • Registering new military families which include: Welcoming them to our community of care; introducing programs; and acting as a liaison between new and existing family members.
  • Respond in a timely manner to telephone calls and correspondence from Military Families of the Fallen
  • Help promote military initiative
  • Obtain written evaluations and verbal feedback of programs and services delivered by volunteers and suggest improvements accordingly
  • Assist Program and Development Teams as needed
  • Assist Marketing Team as needed and coordinate efforts to publicize programming
  • Attend tabling events to share Tuesday’s Children mission and encourage volunteerism
  • Assist the Program Team with planning and execution of programs throughout the year
  • Other tasks/duties/responsibility as assigned
  • Occasional night and weekend travel

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BA
  • Experience within a program based organization
  • Demonstrated ability to compassionately communicate with military bereaved family members
  • In depth knowledge of survivor benefits, including government and non-government organizations.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a non judgmental, tactful and mature manner
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience developing and implementing program evaluation systems. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Constant Contact, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to organizational, planning, and tracking skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Working directly with the development staff, Tuesday’s Children is seeking an intern for September through year end to assist with the work of the department including but not limited to: database management, events planning and execution, communication with donors  and outbound solicitation. Knowledge of Microsoft Office a must. Raiser’s Edge experience a plus. Some research skills are helpful. This position reports directly to the Development Director and can accommodate a flexible, but regular, schedule. The position is based in the Rockefeller Center office.

Tuesday’s Children is seeking an intern for September through year end to assist with research for the department with a focus on donor development.  Excellent opportunity for persons interested in non-profit development work to learn how to research with a targeted outcome under the guidance of the director. Knowledge  of Microsoft Office and evidence of research skills a must.  Raiser’s Edge experience a plus. This position reports directly to the Development Director and can accommodate a flexible, but regular, schedule. The position is based in the Rockefeller Center office.
