Building Resilience after Wide-Scale Trauma and Loss
Reflections from experts and survivors on terrorism, mass violence, military losses and the global pandemic.
Tuesday’s Children’s 5th Lessons in Recovery and Resilience Forum will present stories of resilience and reflections on peer support from survivors of tragedy and experts in the fields of trauma, grief and bereavement, disaster response and recovery, crisis intervention, community resilience, preparedness, and prevention.
This one-day conference will feature keynote talks, survivor stories, and panel discussions with survivors and experts highlighting:
- Lessons learned from two decades responding to 9/11 and mass-scale tragedies
- Promising practices in community resilience and recovery from traumatic events
- First-hand survivor stories of resilience and peer support
- Perspectives on preparedness, prevention, protocols and challenges of the post-9/11 and post-pandemic eras
This virtual event will be augmented by online content, a quarterly speaker series and survivor stories leading up to, during and following the program.
