Project COMMON BOND is coming to YOU.
January 4, 2021 – January 6, 2021
Daily, from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM EST
“The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand at times of challenge and controversy.” Martin Luther King
The Project COMMON BOND Winter Session is an opportunity for past Summer Session attendees to build practical skills in leadership, conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Gain the tools to share meaning and growth out of your common bond and be empowered to translate your experience into positive action in your community.
Our focus in this program is to engage in thinking about the challenges that peacebuilders must encounter and the strengths they must develop to make their mark.
- Our program will rely on interactive exercises and discussion based on real life experiences of the group and the facilitators
- We will examine the individuals that we admire as “heroes” and “leaders” to understand their particular qualities and circumstances
We will explore a case study of a known peacebuilder to investigate how they navigated through disappointments and achievements
- Throughout the three days, you will engage in writing exercises to explore the topic of overcoming challenges to impact change
Our hope is that these three days together will allow for us to learn, have fun and find meaning in how to take action toward peacebuilding in our lives, whether it is through acts of kindness or organized protest of injustices.
This program is only open for participants who are 18+ years old and have attended a Project COMMON BOND Summer Session in the past. We encourage all interested participants to apply early.
The deadline for all participants is Friday, December 3, 2021.
