How have our families been impacted by this crisis?
For the thousands of families we serve, including those in the 9/11 community, in Gold Star military families, and in communities impacted by terrorism and mass violence, the current public health crisis has many parallels to their previous trauma and loss. All of our families are subject to feelings of helplessness, anxiety over the unknown, bracing for what else might happen, the fear of whether those they know and love will be able to recover from the financial impact, let alone the medical impact. Many in our community have already been directly impacted by the current pandemic, and many of our families have essential workers who are helping to mitigate the effects of this crisis and slow the spread of the virus.
What can you do to support the Tuesday’s Children community you helped build?
Tuesday’s Children needs your support more than ever to sustain our programming, support our community, and build our capacity to implement upcoming virtual programs. CLICK HERE to donate now.
We know that news reports and this ever-evolving situation can be anxiety provoking. Please remember that in times like this, credible information is a valuable asset. We will continue to post helpful wellness and life-management resources (CLICK HERE) for families and encourage all to take necessary precautions to prevent infection and exposure for themselves and their loved ones.
Do you want to lend a hand to help others in your community? Have an idea for a way we can work together to help those in need? CONTACT US.
Even as we practice the recommendations of “social distancing” and other preventative measures to limit the spread of coronavirus, please know Tuesday’s Children staff remains available and will continue to support the families we serve.
