Testimonials

“I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to participate in the Tuesday’s children parenting workshop, ParentCorps. This program provided the tools that have enabled me and my girls to work together in learning to cope and move forward in a positive direction. We were so fortunate to have access to the caliber of experts working on this program. They worked closely with me and my girls and put the power to make this family succeed in our hands. A gift for which I am extremely grateful. This program can only be a positive experience for anyone who enrolls." - Participant

“Our lives cannot be fixed – but we each have the opportunity to create a life that is meaningful for us. Tuesday’s Children’s Life Management Program taught us many ways to do just that in a safe and supportive environment. Through this program and the work of our facilitators and coaches, we found a bit of light shining through that dark tunnel." - Participant

“This program has helped me develop a more positive attitude about the different challenges that lay ahead and gave me the tools to meet these challenges. I have more confidence in day to day decision making that affects my family – especially when it comes to matters regarding my children. I have better self esteem and am leaning to once again trust my intuition.” - Participant

Testimonials

"Where should I begin to thank you for Take Our Children to Work Day?  My son James spent the day with the NYPD!  A first for him!  He came home with the biggest smile, great stories and feeling of great importance.  He asked me when he could do that again.  Thank you, Thank you!" - Parent

"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to visit Michael Kors Company and see what really happens behind the scenes of a designers' collection.  This was a wonderful experience for me to be exposed to the other side of fashion and it made me gain more knowledge from this day.  I enjoyed it so much and it made me realize that I need to be determined to succeed in this field and to be the best that I can.  I am really grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with Michael Kors and everyone else who works with this company.  Many young children look up to them and they inspire us all to follow in their footsteps.  I hope to apply for their internship in the future." - Participant

2Teen Programs

Our Teen Programs engage teens early and often. Starting with enrichment programs for middle school children, the guidance continues, preparing adolescents for college and careers through interactive workshops/SAT review courses, seminars, and leadership programs.

Tuesday’s Children also offers specific career shadow days and career planning workshops for students graduating from college and adults re-entering the workforce. Tuesday’s Children partners with respected organizations such as Howard Greene & Associates, Fordham University, Kaplan TestPrep, Habitat for Humanity and Outward Bound to develop targeted programs.

We assist students interested in exploring college and internship opportunities, actively engaging them in the process, sharing the knowledge and tools needed to manage their own careers throughout their lives.

Ashinaga: Study in Japan on a 4 year scholarship

Graduating High School Seniors can apply

Ashinaga is a nonprofit organization based in Tokyo, Japan, which for over 40 years has been providing financial and emotional support to children who have lost one or both parents due to illness, accident, disaster, or suicide. Each year Ashinaga provides scholarships to more than 6,000 orphaned students in Japan, and total academic loans and scholarships disbursed exceed $22 million annually. More than 80,000 students have been able to obtain higher education with help from Ashinaga. In 2000, Ashinaga expanded its activities to include orphans in other countries, holding international summer camps for orphans in Japan from 2000-2007. These camps featured participation by some 440 orphans from 21 countries, including children who lost parents in the 9/11 attacks.

2011 marks the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks and Ashinaga would like to honor the memories of victims of those attacks by providing a four-year scholarship to study at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, for a student who lost a parent or both parents in the 9/11 attacks.
