Sunday, June 20th was the Eighth Annual Sandy Hook Beach Day. Families registered with Tuesday's Children came from throughout the tri-state area to enjoy a day of fun at the beach!
The event brought together over 100 people for a BBQ, time enjoying the beach and fun games lead by our DJs from This is It Entertainment. Scott and Ed from the Sea Gull's Nest Restaurant put together another amazing event and this year Ed drew caricatures of the guests.
We appreciate the support of the Sea Gull's Nest, This Is It Entertainment as well as Sparkles, the face painting clown! Executive Director, Terry Sears said, "This is truly one of our best events!" |

Marine 1 Event
Thursday, June 25th 2009; Tuesday's Children was invited as a special guest of the FDNY to ride on Marine 1 around the Hudson River.
Captain Richard Johnson sailed us on a leisurely cruise to see the Statue of Liberty.
Both Tuesday's Children families as well as families within the Rescue and Recovery population were thrilled to have one of the sunniest days this month to enjoy each other's company and to see the sites of NYC harbor.
Special thanks to John Churcher for arranging the event and to Lt. Zodawic, Lt. LaClair and Cpt. Johnson for all their efforts and making this once in a lifetime experience happen. |
First Responder Alliance's 2nd Family Day

Tuesday's Children's First Responder Alliance hosted the 2nd Family Day at CW Post Campus on June 12th, 2010 for 9/11 Responders and their families.
The event had programming for the entire family including nutrition, stress management, anger management and more. The day was focused around family cohesion and fun with a BBQ and an interactive family game show!
George Martin, the former Giants player and 9/11 Responders advocate, joined everyone for the BBQ and applauded each 9/11 Responder for their efforts.
A 9/11 Responder said "Everyone showed their true dedication to Tuesday's Children, and I think it comes to being one of the best events we have participated in ever. My family really enjoyed the entire day and we all learned some really valuable information. We learned how to ook up some really delicious meals for our family, how to relax when the going gets tough, and how to more effectively parent our children. One of the best moments was meeting others that had gone through the same situation we went through, and what we continue to go through every day."
Special thanks to Jay and Michele who conducted an interactive family game show as well as volunteers Melissa, Ben, Carla and Jessica for all their efforts!
