On Thursday, January 10th Tuesday's Children's Career Resource Center invited high school seniors, college aged students and recent graduates to participate in a "Career Networking" program at the LinkedIn NYC headquarters. Students had the exclusive opportunity for one-on-one resume review with employees from LinkedIn followed by a seminar on how to best utilize LinkedIn when searching for internships and jobs. One participant said, "Prior to the seminar, I had virtually no knowledge of how beneficial creating a LinkedIn profile could be. All of the professionals whom attended were extremely informative, as well. I'm really happy to have had the chance to gain hands-on knowledge."
Following the LinkedIn seminar, students were able to network with professionals from a variety of industries including: finance, journalism, advertising, social media, fashion, public relations, communications, science, legal/government and sports. After the networking one participant noted, "all of the professionals facilitators had perspectives that allowed me to evaluate possible career paths."
Thank you to LinkedIn for hosting Tuesday's Children at their offices for such a special program.

This past December, Tuesday’s Children's families came together to help celebrate the holidays with the families of Staten Island who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. With generous donations and gifts, fun crafts, a delicious lunch and the delightful sound of children’s laughter, these families were able to take a break and forget for a moment their personal losses as a result of Hurricane Sandy and enjoy the holidays with family and new friends.
