Career Paths

The journey from child to adult - the teenage years - can be marked by challenging developmental stages, and that age old paradox has lost none of its steam; just when they need you most they become hardest to reach. For the families of Tuesday's Children, this trying time is magnified by a loss which cannot be replaced.

Challenging transitions from grade school through college become a heady responsibility for a single parent to shoulder alone. Career Paths can help share that burden, demystifying the college application process, identifying summer internships, and providing post graduate career guidance in an atmosphere which engages rather than alienates your child. This innovative program empowers our families with the insight, the strategies and the tools necessary to navigate the road ahead.

Career Paths facilitates a working partnership between our families and educational consultants, guidance counselors, admissions officers and corporate human resource departments. These partnerships act to level the playing field while placing distinctive opportunities within your child's reach. Leadership programs like Outward Bound build self reliance and strength which serve to benefit their overall wellness.

Tuesday's Children seeks to engage your child early and often. College and career placement has become fiercely competitive; it's never too early to begin managing expectations and outcomes. Career Paths can lend a hand with specialized assistance such as tutoring and SAT preparatory classes. The Career Paths college application process coordinates efforts between guidance counselors, admissions officers, and Tuesday's Children's vast network of partners on your child's behalf.

Career Days provide your children with an insider's view into corporate culture and how business works, igniting their imagination and keeping their eyes on their future. We turn again to our corporate partners to arrange potential summer internships for students who wish to take advantage of available opportunities. Upon graduation, Tuesday's Children continues to guide, counsel and support your child's career aspirations as they enter the job market.

Career Paths works as hard for your kids as they are prepared to work for themselves. This no-nonsense approach can instill the drive to excel, but the responsibility for your child's success and future lies directly in their hands - exactly where it belongs.

You future is waiting. Start here.

Ready, Set, Internship!

Tuesday's Children Internship Program, like our other programs, grew from the needs and requests of our families.  Beginning in early 2005, we started receiving an increasing number of requests for internship leads and opportunities.  Building upon the relationships we had formed with our corporate partners during the Take Your Child to Work Day Initiative, we spearheaded this intership program with letters to our current corporate partners, new and future corporate partners and our families describing the program.

To date we have close to 100 students who have expressed interest in the program.  This includes our college students, high school seniors and a handful of recent graduates who are looking for actual job placement assistance or internship experience for graduate school.

Tuesday's Children will also write recommendation letters to the colleges of your choice.
