Resources Health The NYU Child Study Center (http://www.AboutOurKids.org) They offer a limited number of clinical studies at no cost for specific disorders and age groups. To see if your child would be appropriate for one of these studies, please call (212) 263-8916. The NYU Child Study Center also offers workshops and lectures for parents, educators and mental health professionals on a variety of mental health and parenting topics. The Family Education Series consists of 13 informative workshops focused on child behavioral and attentional difficulties. To learn more or to request a speaker, please call (212) 263-8861. North Shore University Long Island Jewish Health System New North Shore - Long Island Jewish Health System Program For children/youth affected by 9/11. North Shore offers a free, confidential assessment and intervention for children who are experiencing difficulties that began after 9/11. Children likely to be eligible for this program: - Show a pattern of behavioral or emotional difficulty such as:
New York Disaster Interfaith Services (www.NYDIS.org) Victim support services and recovery programs are needed long after the traditional means of receiving government benefits are exhausted; and some impacted communities never qualify for traditional assistance. NYDIS organizes educational conferences, coordinates training seminars and emphasizes intrinisic links between mental and spiritual health to increase community resilience and promote healthy coping skills. NYDIS programs accomodate all religious needs and are culturally competent. Recovery programs include: advocacy working groups, caseworder support groups, clergy councils, conferences and interfaith discussion groups. For more information, call 212 669-6100
