Tuesday's Champions, a new initiative of Tuesday's Children, had the opportunity to launch its first family event to reunite, thank, and celebrate the courageousness and generosity of the rescue and recovery workers and responders of 9-11. While this night represented an opportunity for those who had worked side by side at the World Trade Center site to be reunited, it also presented an occasion for many of the rescue and recovery workers and responders to meet each other and their family members for the first time.
Over 300 Rescue and Recovery workers and Responders with their respective family members enjoyed a Meet and Greet, a BBQ, and a Mets game against the L.A. Dodgers (The Mets won 5-2!) Even Mr. Met showed up!
All witnessed a night of hope and love; of mutual admiration and respect; and a common thread of an unspoken understanding of the collective work these rescue and recovery workers and responders did quietly for all Americans.
