Tuesday's Children helps manage expectations as part of the process to limit frustration and disappointment. By working with guidance counselors and admissions offices on college applications, by working with human resource departments on summer internships and by providing career guidance to our graduates, Tuesday's Children can help close another gap, turning negatives into positives.

College was a foregone conclusion for Liz way back in sophomore year of high school. College was a regular topic for Liz and her Dad, Joe. Liz was focused on her goals. Her grades were top notch. Her future made to order. All that remained was the simple stuff -- registration, paperwork... Liz knew Dad had everything well in hand. But with Joe gone, the simple stuff didn't seem so simple anymore. Application deadlines, letters of recommendation, the right phone calls. Liz needed some help. Tuesday's Children was there to keep the process moving. The right letters were sent and the right phone calls were made. Did Liz get a bump to the front of the line? Some preferential treatment? Not at all. Just a fair shake. Liz did her part -- she's worked hard to reach her goals -- she's earned it. We've done our part -- now we're waiting for the letter...
When Joe -- Liz's' older brother -- went through the same process two years ago, neither Dad nor Tuesday's Children were there to help. But Mom and Joe got it done. Mom and Joe also saw what Tuesday's Children's assistance meant to Liz. The positives were hard to miss -- and Joe doesn't miss a thing. So while Joe's burning the midnight oil at school this spring he's also working with Tuesday's Children to land the right summer internship and the right springboard to his future.
