Tuesday's Children Dino Dig |
|
July 7-13, 2007
Grand Junction, Colorado
What could be better than hiking in the mountains of Colorado, digging for dinosaur fossils that are 150 Million years old, swimming in a pristine creek, rafting down the Colorado River and meeting new friends? According to Tommy Dennis, nothing else comes close to the extraordinary experience he and 12 other children experienced at the first Tuesday’s Children Family Trip, the Family Dinosaur Discovery.
A total of 19 moms and children from six Tuesday’s Children families participated in this unique, week-long educational and fun vacation. With Paleontologist Jonathan Cooley and his expert team, the group learned about the science of Paleontology, unearthed genuine 150 Million year old dinosaur bones, 50 million year old plant and insect fossils, and learned to prepare fossils in the lab of the Dinosaur Discovery Museum. The children hiked the “Trail Before Time”, visited a “Dinosaur Bone Yard”, went horseback riding and attended a rodeo. As one of the moms said, “It was a vacation beyond my expectations”.
Following the enthusiastic response to this trip, Tuesday’s Children will continue to offer family vacations in the summer and school vacation periods.
