Dear Friends and Family,

I need your help in supporting a very worthy cause.  I would like you to sponsor me as I swim, bike and run in the New York City Triathlon for Tuesday’s Children on Sunday, July 8, 2012.  Tuesday’s Children is a non-profit family service organization that has made a long term commitment to every individual impacted by the events of September 11, 2001 and more recently those who have been impacted by terrorist incidents worldwide.

For the past 10 years, Tuesday’s Children has offered thriving, life changing programs that positively impact the thousands of children who lost a parent on that tragic day.  They also provide services and resources for the heroic responders who gave so much of themselves in the aftermath of 9/11.   Programs include: Family Engagement, Mentoring, Helping Heals Community Service initiatives, Adult Programs, Project Common Bond, Counseling Services and the First Responder Alliance.

Project COMMON BOND, the most expansive and fastest growing of Tuesday’s Children’s young adult programs, unites 9/11 teens from the United States with others from countries like Argentina, Ireland, Israel, Palestine, Russia, Spain and Sri Lanka that have lost a family member to an act of terrorism.  Since 2008, Project Common Bond has touched the lives of over 300 teenagers from 15 nations.

Tuesday’s Children has been selected as a Charity Partner in the New York City Triathlon 2012.  Each member has committed to raise at least $2,500 in support of the organization.  Any donation you could make on my behalf would be much appreciated.  The thousands of families that comprise the 9/11 community continue to have a great need for Tuesday’s Children programs and services.  In 2011, Tuesday’s Children had record attendance at all family programs and first responder program registration more than doubled.  49% percent of family members are still under 18 years of age and need the community’s collective support.
