Take Our Child to Work Day

Career Paths: Tuesday's Children's Career Paths Department hosts its Fifth Annual Take Our Child to Work Day Program
April 24 , 2008
New York, New York

Take Our Children to Work Day, one of our most popular programs, is conducted annually for children ages 6 through 17.  This program offers a close-up look at organizations and careers of interest, helping the children visualize the future.  Each year, participation continues to be strong.  This year, on April 24th, a total of 90 children, 50 parents and 28 partner organizations came together with 30 volunteers and staff for a day of inspiration, creativity and opportunity

Planning starts months in advance as we reach out to partner organizations who design on-site visits that will help children explore various careers.  We match each child to an organization based on their interests choosing from fields such as:  Architecture, cooking, fashion, law enforcement, media, sports, performing arts, publishing and more

The day of the program, we gather at a NYC venue.  Our staff and volunteers meet the families over breakfast then escort the kids to partner organizations while the parents attend workshops conducted by Tuesday’s Children staff and special guests.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our partners, listed below, who open their doors to our

kids, giving them a chance to learn about careers, see the workplace and inspire them for the future.
