Staten Island, New York
On Thursday, July 12, 2007, over 90 family members and friends attended Tuesday's Children’s Fourth Annual Staten Island Summer Picnic at Nansen Park. The afternoon began with a barbecue style picnic lunch, courtesy of A Taste of Honey, while the rest of the day was spent staying cool on the Wild Rapids Water Slide! Our fantastic DJ Mel kept the party going with great music and plenty of contests and games including a hula-hoop competition and limbo contest. Later in the day, we had a few special guests from Engine 154 stop by. The firefighters let us test the sirens on the fire truck and take turns soaking everyone with the fire hose, which all the children especially enjoyed. A few of the fireman were even convinced to take a ride down the water slide! It was a wonderful day for all our Staten Island family members who attended the picnic. A special Tuesday’s Children thank you to Nansen Park, A Taste of Honey, Be R Guest DJ’s, Scott’s Magic, and Engine 154 in Staten Island. We hope that anyone that missed the event can attend next year!
