On a dark and rainy night in late October, thirty Staten Island families ventured out of their homes and entered into… a fun-filled, costume-wearing, roller skating Halloween Party at Roller Jam USA!

On October 26th, over 140 Tuesday’s Children’s family members put on their Halloween costumes and enjoyed some classic roller skating and were ready to win the costume contest at the recently opened Roller Jam in Staten Island.  All the children (and even some parents) came in costume, from gypsies, to superman, to witches, and bears… this group had a ton of fun getting into the spirit of Halloween.

“It was the best watching all the children file into Roller Jam and skate all dressed up,” said Cara DiGuiseppe, Communication and Events Coordinator for Tuesday’s Children.  “It was so hard to pick a winner for the costume contest.  Everyone looked fantastic!”

Some Staten Island mentors were in attendance with their mentees.  “We were so happy to have the Staten Island mentoring matches attend this fantastic event! They had a great time skating together and hanging out at the pizza party,” said Jennifer Betancourt, Mentoring Director.

A special thanks goes out to Roller Jam USA and our event sponsors Morning Star Auto Parts and Rubies Costume Company, who donated all the decorations and goody bag treats!
