The Tuesday's Children Mentoring Department had another busy weekend with events for both the West Point and Long Island Mentoring Programs.  On Saturday, November 17th, 2007 mentors and mentees were guests of West Point at the West Point vs. the University of Tulsa Football Game.  It was wonderful to have matches from both the West Point and New Jersey Programs attend the game!  The day was highlighted by cadet mentor Mike Platek inviting his mentee to go on the field with him at half time to be part of the giveaway challenge.  Thanks to all the matches that attended and Go Army Sports!

The other exciting outing was on Sunday, November 18th, 2007 in Long Island.  Several Long Island Mentoring Matches climbed to high heights at the Island Rock Gym in Plainview, NY.  Each mentor and mentee met the challenge and participated like experts.  Mentor Greg Lanning said that "the rock climbing event was great in that it enabled everyone to interact and have a great time in a safe environment.  The trainers were great and helped myself and others conquer their fear of heights. Seeing the children climb these walls encouraged me to do the same."  Thanks to everyone that attended and to the great staff at the Island Rock Gym!
