On Sunday evening, December 16, 2007, Tuesday’s Children families made their way in the snow and rain to attend our annual Bronx Zoo Holiday Party and Light Show.  The evening was fantastic, despite the reports of bad weather.  The Bronx Zoo has an incredible holiday light display each year, with music, carolers, activities, rides, and of course, animals!  The Holiday Party is one of our families’ favorites!

In the Congo-Gorilla room, everyone gathered for lots of great food, entertainment, and fun!  The World Foundation for Music and Healing program “Feel The Music” was there, too.  Their musicians and percussionists played bongo drums with an interactive performance.  All the children loved getting the chance to play the drums and sing along.  Everyone had a blast!  There was also a fabulous face painter that painted beautiful creations on the kids’ faces, anything and everything from animals, to bugs, to superheroes, to flowers… It was a complete hit!  And lastly, we were lucky to watch and enjoy the magic performances by Matt the Magician, from King Henry Entertainment, Inc., who wowed everyone in attendance.

After our families got their fill of food and fun in the Congo Room, many spent the rest of the evening walking around the zoo to admire the light show and all the rest of the activities that the zoo had to offer.  “The whole night got everyone in the holiday spirit.  It was wonderful to watch!” said Cara DiGuiseppe, Tuesday’s Children Communication and Events Coordinator.  “Happy Holidays and wishes for a peace-filled and joyful new year!”
